1. Overview
This Privacy Policy applies to the Paycheck mobile app and Paycheck website published by APPSY. Paycheck helps users plan income, track expenses and budgets, manage recurring bills, savings goals and debts, connect financial accounts, and use AI-assisted money coaching.
Financial information is sensitive. We use personal and sensitive data only to provide and secure Paycheck, manage subscriptions, respond to support, comply with law, and improve the service as described below.
Paycheck does not ask you to give APPSY your bank login credentials, full payment card numbers, government identification numbers, or full financial account numbers. Please do not enter those details in notes, chat messages, or other free-text fields.
2. Information We Collect
The information we collect depends on the features you choose to use.
Account information
Your name, email address, authentication identifiers, login method, country, currency, pay schedule, account status, and subscription plan.
Financial app data
Income, paycheck details, expenses, budgets, categories, savings goals, debts, recurring bills, notes, payment labels, and other records you choose to enter.
Connected-bank data
If you choose to connect a bank, we may receive institution and account metadata, balances, and transaction data through Plaid.
Voice and audio data
Audio or live speech you provide when using microphone-based features, together with the resulting transcription. Voice is transcribed on your device (Apple) or, for some features and with your permission, by sending the audio to OpenAI.
Camera and receipt data
When you scan a receipt with your camera or pick a receipt image, the image is sent to OpenAI to read the merchant, amount, and date so we can pre-fill an expense. This happens only when you start a scan.
AI and chat data
Messages, prompts, generated replies, conversation titles, and related content when you use AI-assisted features. When you ask the AI money coach a question, the financial details needed to answer it (such as your budget, income, spending, savings goals, and debts) are sent to OpenAI to generate the response.
Purchases and subscriptions
Subscription status, product identifiers, entitlements, purchase validation information, and billing events from app stores and subscription providers.
Support communications
Messages and details you send when asking for help, reporting a problem, or sharing feedback.
Technical and usage data
Device type, app version, operating system, timestamps, feature usage, logs, diagnostics, and security events.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Create, authenticate, secure, and manage your account.
- Provide budgeting, expense tracking, goals, debts, and related features.
- Import and sync connected-bank information when you request it.
- Process voice input and provide transcriptions when you use the microphone.
- Provide AI-assisted coaching, insights, and app responses.
- Sync subscription status, plan limits, purchases, and entitlements.
- Respond to support requests, troubleshoot issues, and prevent abuse.
- Maintain security and improve reliability, performance, and experience.
4. Sharing and Disclosure
APPSY does not sell personal information, financial information, bank data, microphone data, audio, or transcriptions. We also do not share personal and sensitive data for third-party advertising.
We may share limited information when necessary with:
- Service providers that support hosting, databases, authentication, bank linking, transcription, subscriptions, support, and security.
- OpenAI — when you use the AI money coach, scan a receipt, or use voice transcription, the relevant text, image, or audio is sent to OpenAI to generate the result. OpenAI is contractually required to protect this data and does not use data sent through its API to train its models.
- Apple, Google, and payment or subscription partners to validate and manage purchases and subscriptions.
- Authorities or other parties when required by law, to respond to lawful requests, enforce our terms, protect users, or prevent fraud and abuse.
- A successor organization in a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate protections.
5. Connected Banks and Plaid
Connecting a bank is optional. When you use this feature, Plaid handles the connection to your financial institution. APPSY does not receive or store your bank login credentials. We receive only the account and transaction information needed to provide the features you request.
You can disconnect a linked institution from Paycheck. Plaid processes information under its own privacy policy and terms.
6. Microphone, Audio, and AI Features
Microphone access is optional and user-initiated. Paycheck does not record in the background, use audio for advertising, or sell microphone, audio, or speech data. You can deny or revoke microphone permission and continue using non-voice features.
When you use voice input, audio may be processed locally or securely sent to APPSY and trusted transcription providers to convert speech into text.
The AI money coach is optional and user-initiated. When you ask it a question, Paycheck sends the financial context needed to answer — such as your budget, income, spending and categories, savings goals, debts, recurring bills, and your first name — to OpenAI (OpenAI, L.L.C.), which processes it to generate the response. We ask for your permission in the app before any data is sent. OpenAI processes this data under its own privacy policy, is contractually required to protect it, and does not use data sent through its API to train its models. We do not send this data to OpenAI for any other purpose.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
We keep information only as long as needed to provide Paycheck, maintain records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and protect the service.
You can delete your account using the controls in Paycheck or by emailing contact@appsylabs.site from your account address. After deletion, we delete or de-identify associated information unless limited retention is required or permitted for legal, security, fraud prevention, backup, or accounting purposes.
8. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, delete, restrict, or object to certain uses of your information. You can:
- Update profile settings and financial records inside Paycheck.
- Export your data or delete your account using available app controls.
- Disconnect linked banks and revoke microphone access in device settings.
- Manage or cancel subscriptions through the App Store or Google Play.
- Contact us to request access, correction, export, or deletion. See the Help Center for instructions.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal and sensitive data, including encrypted transmission, authentication controls, access restrictions, secure token handling, and monitoring.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If we learn of a security issue affecting your information, we will take appropriate steps consistent with applicable law.
10. Children and International Processing
Paycheck is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 or the minimum age required by applicable law. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information.
APPSY and its service providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the effective date above and provide additional notice when required.
